Step-By-Step Guide: How To Make A Pineapple Bong

While most of us cannabis smokers prefer to smoke our herbs out of glass or paper, those two methods could get a tad stale after a while. Well, what better way to spice up a smoke sesh than getting stoned via exotic fruit? More specifically: a pineapple bong.

While some of you might be a little skeptical at first, it is only a matter of time before you’re smoking all your ganja exclusively out of a pineapple. This isn’t like your typical apple bowl, rather, this is a full functioning pineapple bong that uses the natural parts of the delicious island fruit, along with a couple of other easy-to-find items. Sounds like a daunting task? Don’t worry, we’ll break it down step-by-step.

Step 1: Cut Off The Top Of The Pineapple Bong

The first step is basically common sense. Like you would do any time you eat a pineapple, you simply cut the top off. Yeah, not rocket science, but a step is a step.

Note: make sure you keep the top. You’ll need it later.

Step 2: Hollow Out The Pineapple Bong

The second step is to hollow the fruit out. You can ditch the core, but the good news with this step is you get to salvage all the pineapple! At least you have a delicious snack for when you inevitably get lit.

Step 3: Cut Out Holes In The Pineapple Bong

You’re obviously going to need a spot to put the actual bowl, so cut out a little hole in the front of the pineapple bong to accommodate the piece. Obviously, make sure the hole isn’t too big, or the bowl is going to just fall right through. Even if it’s just slightly too big, precious cannabis smoke will escape the pineapple before you get a full hit, and obviously, nobody wants that.

Oh, and this is also where the top part of the pineapple you saved comes into play. You’re going to want to cut a hole in the center of that, for where you put the mouthpiece. Again, make sure this is uniform with the size of the mouthpiece you plan on using.

Step 4: Insert Downstem Into Pineapple Bong Hole

Step four is basically just a continuation of step three. You might want to use actual glass pieces for this step, although you can get a little creative. To make it a legit bong, try to find a glass stem and bowl combo that you can just slide right in. If not, you can fashion something out of tin foil, or whatever your heart desires. As long as you can put cannabis in it, that is.

Step 5: Insert Pineapple Bong Mouthpiece

One of the final steps is inserting the mouthpiece into the top of the pineapple, then replacing the top back onto the fruit. Again, for the mouthpiece, you can pretty much use anything as long as it’s tube-shaped. You could use a toilet paper roll, a small brass pipe, or even a hollowed out cucumber. Yeah, that last one is a little weird, but you get the picture.

Step 6: Toke Up with your Pineapple Bong

Now that everything has come together, it’s time to smoke. Place the cannabis in the bowl, and you’re ready to get high. Make sure you do a couple practice pulls before you waste cannabis, just to see if it’s working correctly. If you successfully breathe in the air, with no signs of clogging– you are good to go.

Also, try to keep any of the little extras you used, so you can put it in your next pineapple bong. Because obviously, you’re going to make another one. What’s not to love?
